This little sewing machine sure is cute!

Anyone know anything about it, like how well does it work? Or how much is it worth?

Love the color!

BETTY62 02-10-2012 08:13 AM

I really like that machine. Too bad it's not in my area.

harrishs 02-10-2012 08:45 AM

Looks like my Singer 185-----that is a really nice machine. I think that is a pretty good price---I paid more for mine on e-bay.

Nanamoms 02-10-2012 08:55 AM

I really like it, too. I would think that is a pretty good price if all is in good working order.

wuv2quilt 02-10-2012 09:02 AM

I've got a Singer 185K just like this...small, but a chunky monkey, runs like a dream, and purrrrrr's like a kitten.

I picked her up at a local flea-market for $40.00 with a box FULL of attachments, original manual, and about 10 yards of fabric. Can't go wrong with this little baby :)

~whimper~ I want them!! LOL!

Quilt Mom 02-10-2012 10:18 AM

It says they are handcranks - I'd settle for just one of them!

The 185 is a nice machine. Are you going to get it?

dublb 02-10-2012 12:48 PM

It says Pick up only, & it says in Texas. Where in TX?????? TX is Big! From where I live to Houston is 10 hours! To Ft worth 5 hours! I'm just sayin' that they should give more info.
I do wish I had that kind of $$$$$! I want 'em all!

katcox 02-10-2012 01:23 PM

Hi, I just got one like this . But its in a beautiful cabinet. Haven't had a chance to check her out. But I was looking for information about her. I have a Singer Treadle who we call suzy Q and now I'm adding sadie mae. I still havent figured out how to do pictures. on this board. Maybe I just can't find the time.

That is a made in Canada 185j - I got one in a lovely cabinet last November, she was missing the bobbin cover and I just replaced it a few days ago so she is going to get a work out pretty soon!

...she is a 3/4 sized machine and a lovely stitcher!

My sister got one at a garage sale, and liked it so much she bought another later. She raves about it.

OMG. Seeing all those coffin tops gave me goose bumps. I wonder where all the dead bodies, er sewing machines are? It's a good thing that I don't live in Texas and I don't have the $$. And they are hand cranks to boot. Poor guy, he says he is overstocked!!! Can you imagine? I am whimpering along with you Charlee. Even triple, quadruple whimpers.

I think he is in San Antonio.

If I was in Texas, I'd be whipping out plastic so fast it'd make Flash Gordon look like a tortoise!! :D Guess it's a good thing I'm not in Texas, I kind of like my spousal unit...he's cute and a keeper...I'm pretty sure tho, that would be grounds for a divorce!! :D :D :D

I'm sorry I didn't comment on your original post. That little machine is so cute! I don't know anything about it except it is cute! I did notice that you are in Ohio so the shipping won't be very much. I love Goodwill but you have to pay attention to the shipping cost.:)

Wish I was in Texas!!!

deplaylady 02-11-2012 03:13 PM

It is cute, runs nice too - its a 99 dressed up in a different dress. Plus unlike my early 99, it does do a back stitch.

Wow! What a deal! The fabric was worth that.

I bought one like ths at a quilt show for $50. It's not light like the featherweight, and sounds like a tank when it runs, but it has a really beautiful stitch. Which at the the end of the day is what you want, right?

mountain deb 02-12-2012 03:24 PM

Dang, I do not need to look...I do not need to look...I oh heck I looked, sigh and another big sigh...........

Jingle 02-12-2012 05:34 PM
