Goodness! I'll check in the morning to see how high the bidding is. Hmmmm... hubby is heading out of town tomorrow for a week. Think I could sneak it in while he's away?!?

I would be surprised if it goes for under $500..but then maybe without the case, that will take the value down.

wannaquilt1 06-22-2011 07:34 PM

i love that it's white, i usually only see the black. i think that makes it worth more doesn't it?

Dotha 06-22-2011 07:45 PM

white seems to give it a little extra value but I am by no means an expert on this subject....just what I have observed on Ebay and other places.

Not only that but one was in 2002 and the other in 2007. I racked up some feedback buying before I started selling. But that was back in 2000 when it was easier.

Nanamoms 06-22-2011 11:37 PM

I know of a white one for sale for $325 plus shipping if anyone is interested.

Dotha 06-23-2011 12:22 AM

The low price does make this transaction suspect, doesn't it?

justflyingin 06-23-2011 02:57 AM

It is possible he/she is starting to get into selling sewing machines as he/she has three listed.

peacebypiece 06-23-2011 06:18 AM

Read the details carefully about the item. That low a price is too good to be real for any color. I just shipped an eBay sale featherweight back because it was not what the seller's description lead me to expect. Motors and wiring are not free to replace.

Dotha 06-23-2011 07:16 AM

The machine sold for $177.50. I sure am curious about it. I would have liked to have had it but skeptical about it. I don't know why there were not more photos of it and a better description. Well, on to other things. I do need to stay away from ebay though. I have a feeling that I will be buying a kewpie doll on there in a few hours. they are so cute and I have been wanting one.

gale 06-23-2011 06:21 PM

I still have the kewpie doll from when I was a kid. I wonder what it's worth. lol

I bought a white featherweight several years ago in very poor shape. I had it painted, new decals put on it, and sent it out to be cleaned and adjusted. It turned out to be rather expensive but it sews wonderfully and I wouldn't sell it for what I now have in it. It didn't have a case but I found a 24 can cooler with a hard removable liner that fits it very nicely and has net pockets on the outside for all the extras and an expandable top for sewing supplies. I'm really set now!

you know I really seriously considered bidding on this, up to maybe $200 or so. I have a FW already but wanted a white one. I thought if it does not run or is in really bad shape, I can always put some money into it and maybe later I could have it repainted...and it could just spend its life being cute in my house. It did not really matter if it could sew. I was skeptical of the seller. One time I bought a "feather weight" machine and it was not really a FW so she took it back. Now I wish I would have, but if I would have I would be very nervous about the seller. I guess it is done...and it is not mine.

I am sure I paid too much for his doll...it is small, 6.5 inches and is really cute with a fluffy little dress. I paid 23 dollars for it and I am sure that is too much as there were no other bids on it. I just bid a few cents over the asking price.

Lostn51 06-23-2011 08:42 PM

Not a bad deal so far but after 30,000 of us start bidding on it there is no telling where it will be when it ends!
