But not quite...anyone know what this model is?

I don't know what it is but this one on my local CL looks to be the same so I will be interested to see what others think.

Well, dummy me. It is listed as a 403A. Guess I did not read what was written under the photo.

One of the best machines ever built, along with the 201 and 15:D

my go to machine is a 403 - very simple and does it all

If you have not bought it run as fast as you can and get it. You will love it. I love mine. it will sew everything. I even make banners to put across the street for a festival every year. I have other machines. This one has never failed me.

I am so glad you posted this picture and others replied. I thought it was just another Plastic Singer. They are for sale all the time at thrift stores really cheap in our area, and I think I have one myself.

If you attempt to lift it you will realize it isn't plastic.

look to be sure it has all its disks and accessories

Getting disks and accessories for the 403 has been one of the easiest - I see them all the time on Ebay.

I've bought two sets in boxes that looked like they were never used -including the manual. Much harder to find the original plastic case that the 401 accessories came in.

If the 401 is like the 500, the feet and accessories came in a beige plastic box along with a few pattern discs.
