Machine in auction.
 

I know nothing about this brand, but was wondering if anyone could tell me what it might be worth. Thank you. Oh and it does say new oak cabinet so not original.

It is worth what someone wants to pay for it. Personally, I steer away from the New Home machines with the 'Leaf' tension mechanism on the top. It isn't very easily adjusted to get and keep a balanced stitch. It will work, but life wasn't meant to be so hard - know what I mean?

Having made cabinets, that is a not very nice job of rebuilding the table, and they left off the front cover flap, so when the machine is down, it's rather ugly

(deleted my critique of the wood work - decided if you can't say anything nice, best to not say anything)

Since I've seen much nicer machines in original cabinets, I'd not even consider this one - not even if they were giving it away.

I grew up with a New Home which my mother bought new in the 1940's. It was electric, but we also had a New Home treadle in later years. Now I have a Pfaff 7570 w/embroidery, a Brother CS6000i, a older New Home, a 1954 Featherweight, and a Viking 1100 (which is on loan to a friend.) I have had nothing wrong with any of my 3 New Homes, and can definetly recommend the ones I had. I don't remember the number of the one I grew up with (after all I am now 78 years old - growing up was a long time ago.) But don't be afraid of them. -
