machine quilting

Has anyone here machine quilted on a 66-6?I have one in a cabinet and would like to use it, but am not sure if it would be a good machine for this job. Thanks. Gina

I quilted a cover for a treadle on a 66-4 (?). It worked fine. The only machine we've used to quilt full sized quilts is the 201-2.

I think the 66s are great for quilting. Others will say it's no good for FMQ but wouldn't know on that cos I've never done FMQ'ing.

I have been in treadle conversations in which it was claimed they had seen a treadle used for free-hand machine embroidery. If that's possible, machine quilting should be a piece of cake.

How about do a sample and let us know? Please.

Good luck.

I've had the best luck with the Singer model 15 & 237 for FMQ, have done straight line quilting with all of my treadles.

Any machine that stitches a nice, even straight stitch can be used to quilt
