Material won't feed at very beginning

I have a centennial Singer 15-91 that I have been doing some cleaning and oiling on and everything seems to work just fine except that when you need to have the machine feed the fabric in from the beginning of the seam it will not feed. If you put the cloth under the whole presser foot, then it seems to feed just fine. The stitch is very accurate. i just can't figure out why it won't feed from the very beginning of the fabric.

You may need to increase the presser foot pressure. If the front toe of the foot is not pressing down with enough pressure it won't feed properly.

I think I just figured it out. I didn't look like the feed dogs were all the way up so I tipped the machine over and adjusted the feed dogs. Apparently in my cleaning I had not tightened the screw all the way down on the feed dog adjustment. It seems to be working just fine now.
