anyway I might need another avatar and it's a little unusual I think

omg! I never ever saw a round plate on a sewing machine and I worked for years in sewing factories and ran many different machines this is a first! learn and see something new everyday on this Q board.

oldsewnsew 02-05-2014 02:57 PM

well theres round and theres ROUND

Macybaby 02-05-2014 03:13 PM

I've seen those - very neat looking! I'm also a sucker for the "different" but some times I think I too far trying to justify why another machine is "different" enough to bring home.

That's a VS machine, right? (duh- look at the bobbin winder LOL!) So, do you have to take off that entire plate to change the bobbin? It kind of looks like it just sits there - it's big enough to stay put!

Very different styling on that one. Neat!

The round plate is very cool.

frudemoo 02-05-2014 04:27 PM

The round plate and the arched badge are cool. The Necchi Supernovas (etc) have a round plate too. They rotate on a central pin so you can select the different stitch/needle plate options rather than changing the whole plate :D

Macybaby 02-05-2014 04:52 PM

That rotating plate on the Necchi has tempted me many times! Almost got a pink one, but when I called the seller said her daughters got upset when they found out she was going to sell it, so she was planning on keeping instead. Too bad she didn't think removing the craigslist add would be a good idea since it was no longer for sale.
