I recently purchased "Lizzy". She is a "New Home D". I am having a problem finding the serial number. I will have to have Billys help, I am sure. She doesn't have the usual cabinet. I had to buy a new belt and clean and oil her but she does sew like a dream.

Very nice! i hope to get my treadle working soon.

I love it!!!
The serial is on a the slide plate and PM me the number and I can date it for you. The only thing is if sometime through the years it lost the original plate they could have put another one on it and then the serial will be out. But it looks like it was very well taken care of and it is more than likely the original. Billy |
She's pretty! Neat cabinet too!

Lizzy is a dear! I've never seen a NH "D" before. Nice clean up job. That cabinet looks much 'newer' than the "D"... was it original?
|
I think that's called a parlor cabinet. Check out the vintage sewing machine thread here, and ask Billy or one of the others...
|
Yes, it's a parlor... but it doesn't have the double opening doors. I'm just curious that's all... especially since the original post said something that the 'cabinet was not the usual'.

Beautiful!
