Here is my sweet Featherweight, Judith Anne, named after the lady that sold her. She is a 1937. This lady had 7 of them and thought it was time to let someone else enjoy them. Oh happy day!!

Does she have the art nouveau decored face plate? I am on the look for a 201 with the early type decor :- )
It's in nice condition, looks clean too. From pictures on the web I have noticed some 221s have less shiny finish, more of a silky smooth surface, and others have the very polished up shellac. I think they can dull down the shellac shine just a bit by rubbing the last layer with fine pumice powder. I'm not sure how they originally did it. Either way, what a lucky find, it's the cutest machine ever :- ) |
I sew on my FW every day. I love her.......

She's a little beauty!

And you got the old style green book too! Great machine!

Congrats on your new beauty!

Yes, I would call that "side plate" fancy art deco. Not real sure of your terminology. Marcia

Congratulations! You know about all the cool add ons you can get for it? After I found mine in a junk store I was going to clean her up, get her working and sell her, but fell in love and before I knew it I had not only my featherweight, but also the zigzag/ decorative stitch attachment, the fagotting attachment and the buttonhole attachment.. None of them are wonderful, but it's fun to watch them move the fabric side to side to zigzag and do those decorative stitches. and the featherweight makes just about the prettiest straight stitches I've ever seen.
there was a lady at the Mid Atlantic quilt festival this year who had one of those acrylic extension tables for hers and had put a westalee ruler foot on it and was FMQ with rulers--- fun to watch a featherweight being used to Fmq! Made me want to run right home and order an extension table LOL Rob |
Congratulations love your machine--hope you enjoy sewing on it.
