Mercury machine

I'm thinking of buying this as it's in a nice little cabinet and look pretty good and is only $50. Is that a good price or should I save my $$ for the New Home Greyhound machine that I'm searching for. Thanks.

Very nice machine guess it depends on how bad you want the New Home.

I'd go $50.00 for it. A 15 clone is a very good machine. Uses common easy to get accessories and is simple to maintain. Joe

That looks like it's in very good condition and it's very cool. $50 is only a month of Starbucks coffee for some people...

I have one of each - go for the clone.

Go for the Mercury. Likely the New Home Greyhound that you want will take the special CC 1221 needles that are nigh on impossible to find.

It's a lovely machine!

I want the New Home Greyhound mostly for the greyhound as I have a small collection of greyhound items but usually only 1 greyhound at a time. I have a standard treadle since the 1970's and a couple of years ago got a nice Singer 66-16 (?) serial # AH081051 from 1947 for only $25 which the woman bought in 1948 & used until she went to the nursing home. I don't need another machine, it's just that this one looks so good.

You know this is all your fault.;)

Get both?
That Mercury is a neat looking machine. I love the lightning bolts and it's in a very nice cabinet to boot. I've just started this sewing machine thing and I'm really starting to love them. I'm already driving my wife nuts.
