Model 28

I'm new around here, but thought I'd show the 28 that I spent all day yesterday cleaning up. It dates to 1894 and somewhere in it's life, someone did a mediocre job of refinishing it and got the decal on crooked. But the machine now works great again. I haven't decided yet whether I'll refinish or not. Proper decals will cost more than I have in the machine.

I also have a couple 15-91s. This is the best one. It's a 1952.

The 201-2, also from 1952.

And the 221 from 1955.

In case you're wondering about the quilts on the wall, I've been a long arm quilter for about 12 years and the pictures are in my studio.

Nice machines!

That machine at the top looks like a refurbished machine that wasn't motorized. Can you tell if it has been repainted? Link to thread about refurbished machines http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...s-t277707.html
There are other threads and more info tucked all over the place here. Welcome.

I'm thinking the 128 would be a 3/4 size machine and a 27 would be full sized.

I would also like to see how that hand crank is held on.

Dave;

Welcome! This is just my opinion but I like the slightly crooked Singer decal. It's just different enough to be interesting ~ I'm probably the oddball on that though. Love the machine collection and the quilts on your wall.

I think the repaint of the 28 hand crank makes it fit in better with your other black & gold machines. I don't know which decals would have been used in 1894. I know that about 1903 & 1905 you will see a lot of the Sphinx decals (which I personally don't care for - but have three 27s that have the Sphinx decals)

Janey, Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.
