That is a National that was badged for Monarch. The serial number should be under the Shuttle plate in the front. It looks to be in wonderful condition ans I will have to look up the needles and bobbins the machine takes for you.

I have three bobbins and the shuttle looks really good-needles are another thing! That # under the shuttle plate is 575605. It is also engraved patented Nov. 30, 1886-I realize it was probably mfg. anytime after this date.

Wow! That is one beautiful machine. :mrgreen: I wish it was sitting in my sewing room. :-D I wish modern machines had a tall harp like your Monarch does.

Oh Jane, what a wonderful treasure you have found!! :thumbup: I am not at all familiar with this brand, but I do love to look at it. Hope you have many years of enjoyment out of owning it!!
