montgomery wards model R

My husband brought an antique sewing machine home today. Does anyone know where to find info for it. It did not have an instruction book with it. Montgomery Wards model R 24 NS 3122A.
Thank you in advance.

Looks like the R is a cute little National made VS machine - so it's going to take National Attachments, shuttles, bobbins and needles.

BTW - does yours have the stripes on the front end? I think those really look neat.

Also - you can get Wards attachments (not Signature, that will be too new). Just get those for a VS machine - not Rotary.

Can't tell for sure - but it looks like the MW model R is the same and the National Reversew. Check out pictures and see if it's the same - it may be easier to get a manual for teh Reversew than a Wards one if it's the same machine.

Can you post pictures of your machine? That will settle which machine it is- 3/4 size or full size.
Besides, we like pictures.

There are several manuals available on ebay. Do a search for Reversew. I have a black one badged Queen of the West. Mine has the spool pin in the center meaning it's an older model. It belonged to a relative & had the original manual...the manual said Reversew on the cover so any of those on ebay ARE correct for your machine.

Yes, it does have stripes.

My hubby worked and finally got it to sew. It worked great but does make kind of a loud grinding sound when it sews. The bobbin is different than we are use to. Makes a pretty stitch though

Thank you. I will check ebay.
