Shown is the bobbin assembly from a Singer "Red Eye". Boy, its a mess..But wait until I clean it. One photo is the whole assembly then I took it apart. You can do the same, just don't loose any parts and remember where they all go!!!

Yeah, remember where it goes? I can't remember my own name some of the time.lol

I have one that is so gummed up, I can't get it apart.. My Singer 66 came with the bobbin winder little pin broken off.. I was able to find a replacement on Ebay, but I want to change the guard from mine to the new one, as the new one has krinkle paint.. I can't get it to budge..

The screws on mine were very tight. But still moveable. Have you tried soaking it in WD40. I hear some folk swear by that stuff. Mine did not need to be soaked but I did soak it afer I got it apart. I got most of the yuck off that way. Then used Denatured alcohol which got a little more yuck off then I started polishing. The metal is still not as bright as I wish it to be so tomorrow I give it a once over with Fuller Brush Jewerly cleaner..

Keeping up the good work I see. When I disassemble something with a lot of little pieces I lay them out top to bottom as I take them apart and then take a picture so I remember the order of reassembly. Do you soak them in kerosene for cleaning or something else?

I soaked in WD40. Then scrubbed with tooth brush.

That looks so-o-o familiar :) I've been soaking 3 different bobbin winders from my Singer 66's this week. They are all frozen in different places so I'm hoping to be able to get at least one working bobbin winder out of the bunch of them. I love working on these old machines....even when I'm not having any luck. I hope you post more pics after you put it back together again!
