It has a few paint chips, and luckily I think I can just re-glue the base and make a new bottom for it.

I have one very similar to yours only badged American Home. Same shape and also a SS machine. It does some nice stitches too.

Mines not a pretty blue though, just basic black.

Here's a pic of it. Like I said it's similar to yours but not exact. I doubt it was made by Brother. There are no J- A numbers on it or any other manufacturer markings. It just says DE LUXE Made In Japan on the badge.

Mine has a serial # MP________ so not a JA either. I have to assume the M is a Morse serial # and not made by Brother either.
