My 306 arrived!

I wasn't sure exactly what I would get. (Apparently, some "delicious snacks"!) It was one of those eBay machines with two pics BOTH from the back! The ad said it was a 301 and later corrected to a 306 but added a link that gave me the impression this was one that didn't take cams. I didn't even know before that some 306's do and some don't take cams.

I threw a bid out on a lark on this for .99 and won it for that and the cost of shipping. I tried to be polite when sending the seller a link to information on packing. I never heard back so I just had to wait and see how it all played out!

The packing was a really good job! They removed the machine from the wood box. It was all together in a huge box, but the machine was wrapped and tucked in a wood crate and the box was separate. The only damage I could see was a broken light bulb.

The packing was a mix of bubble wrap and cardboard, wood crate, extra styrofoam and a couple old sweaters. The machine has some missing paint but aside from being dusty and dirty is in decent shape.
*The seller forgot to include the cords and foot pedal but I have contacted them and they will find it send it ASAP.

It looks like the machine would take cams but something is missing I think it needs a round screw on piece for the cam spot. This should be a fun one to work on. I haven't messed with a swing needle before.

Woohoo!

Wow, that's some impressive packing! Especially since you only paid 99 cents for the machine!

It looks like you are missing the knurled knob that holds the cams on. Pretty sure I've seen one for sale recently on either eBay or Etsy though; hopefully won't be hard to track down!

How well does it move? I do see a bit of missing paint on the bed but otherwise it looks pretty good!

I can turn the handwheel but it's a bit stiff from years of gunk. I didn't have spare cords handy so I didn't test the motor yet. If you can find that "knurled knob" send me info on it! I'll probably want one if it starts cleaning up well.

I'll see if I come across that nut again (besides the nut I live with). I was probably searching for "Singer fashion disc" or something.

Thanks! I've only found one so far and it was already sold

Aren't you impressed with how solid it is? Hope you get it cleaned and adjusted. It is as good as any (201 excepted) Singer when it's in its prime. IMHO!

I've got extra ZZ cams. Happy to send one to you. PM me. That is if you find a knob to hold it on.

Nice machine! Great price, too, but I'll bet the shipping was high with all that packaging!!

nice! I'm still on the lookout for 306/319 - found both but we couldn't get the 306 working consistently and I wasn't 'in love' though should have been..sigh...319 at same shop is too high for me even with the cool cabinet. just hoping I dont' convince myself I 'need' it anyways but being good- already planning to trade/sell some of my 'extras' at the shop to get stuff I dont have and want. would probably still owe for that 319 (is it 'worth' $500?! don't think it is to me..sigh...)

the cams are cool on this one - think it's the same ones my 328 uses but they go sideways instead of fitting inside a compartment seems like (shop didn't have cams to play with at the time so never saw it in action..)

Thanks Ron! I am looking but haven't seen the knurled knob. One should show up eventually. I love the looks of this machine. It feels solid.
