He is such a sweetie sometimes. We were talking the other day about how many sewing machines I have and that the only one I was really looking for was the elusive pink Atlas. So guess what he found on Craigslist ? He works nights, so he called this morning and went and picked her up. She was quite dirty and I have not got her to sew yet, but she runs and the light works and she is so cute. But wow is she ever heavy. Definitely not a machine to lug around.

Very pretty machine! Looks like the bobbin wheel is pink too.

Katia 11-06-2011 03:31 PM

Yep, lots of pink on this baby. The rubber part or whatever it is of the bobbin winder needs to be replaced. It is all yucky and crumbly. The tension needs work. the back plate does not seem to respond to the dial. Not sure if that is something I can fix. I also want my husband to rewire it. The owner did that already, but not sure I trust it.

Pretty in pink. She's adorable. I wish you many happy years with her.

You will LOVE it!! I bought a pink Atlas from Billy (Lostn51) and it sews so nicely!! My young kids were fighting over which one of them was going to get it when I died    :D

I love it!!! I bought an old Neccar yesterday for $5.00 but haven't had time yet to do anything with it. When I do, I will post a pic to the board.

Congrats on getting your Atlas. I have the same modle and I love it! DH is a keeper!

Katia 11-06-2011 09:59 PM

Yes, he is definitely a keeper. He spoils me. I have to be careful telling him I like something. But then after almost 40 years I guess it is good to spoil each other.

Gladys 11-06-2011 11:49 PM

That is a beautiful machine. This is the first time I've heard of the pink Atlas. I'll have to look it up online and read about it.

heather1949 11-07-2011 02:51 AM

Boy your DH must love you...that is a beautiful looking machine.

Mariposa 11-07-2011 08:43 AM

Hubby is a keeper! Congrats on your new baby! :)

melinda1962 11-07-2011 07:01 PM

I have the same machine, and it is my best FMQer. My mom got it for me last Christmas, and my husband got me a pink Monarch too, so I have two pink ones. My smg said the Atlas came into US down at New Orleans, and were distributed from there. He said, I am just quoting. Enjoy the machine and your husband is a keeper!!

erstan947 11-07-2011 07:20 PM

What a nice hubby you have. You're a lucky lady to have that beautiful machine and a hubby who supports your interests.

azwendyg 11-07-2011 07:49 PM

What a wonderful thing for him to do! And what a nice looking machine too.

miriam 11-08-2011 01:02 PM

quiltinglady-1 11-08-2011 04:31 PM

What a wonderful surprise! Does sound like your hubby is a keeper. My hubby would have wanted to know why I needed another machine (have 11 at last count). Need?? does that have anything to do with it??

Drew 11-08-2011 04:57 PM

Congrats on the new machine! Enjoy!

lovequilting2 11-08-2011 05:22 PM

What a cutie. Are you going to name her?

mighty 11-29-2011 04:23 PM

What a cutie! After I saw this machine I knew I just had to have one. Found a nice one on Ebay and bought it. They are really kind of hard to find, But I lucked out on a nice one, can not wait to get her! Thank you for sharing your machine it is really beautiful.
