My friend's "new" Universal Deluxe Automatic ZigZag Precision Sew

A friend's father-in-law saw this machine at a yard sale. He brought it to her home; I think that is sew sweet.

I need to learn what machine it is a clone of. I want to find a zipper foot, a cording foot, and a quarter-inch quilting foot for her to use with it.

She sent me these photos. She said there's a model number MOZ, along with "Universal", Deluxe Automatic Zig-Zag Precision Sew.

Can anyone here tell me what machine this is, and what feet and needles will fit it?

Thanks so much.

Beautiful machine! I love that teal color. I'm no expert, but this thread should be a good place to start: http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...s-t207877.html

I believe that it will take a high shank foot. I'm fairly certain that it will take the 15x1 needles that the majority of sewing machines take these days.

I have a model MOZ that is badged "Miracle" you can see it at this post http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...ml#post7242945 (the teal/turquoise and white one - the 3rd one down on the right side) It is very similar to a White 231 and I think the manual is on on the singerco site. I think this link will work - http://www.singerco.com/uploads/down...hite-231-x.pdf It looks like your friends might take cams like mine. I haven't been able to obtain the cams and not sure what else mine needs right now. I think I have also seen similar machines badged "Dressmaker." I think the cams that fit might be on "Cam Thread" http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...t252968-6.html

Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.

PS looks like maybe even another similar machine is McKee 850. Also you might check sew-classic for an adapter for the high shank so that you/she can use low shank feet.

It's not a clone, it's just a badged Japanese machine. Looks like it's a high shank machine so you'll need high shank feet. It uses regular 15x1 needles. It's cool to watch these end loading zig zag machines in action from underneath, the whole hook/bobbin assembly moves back and forth with the needle.

Cari

Edit- Yep Janey it looks just like your Miracle. Cool.

Yup and when it is gummed up... Give it a good cleanup and you have a nice machine.

Check SewClassic.com. There's a good explanation on how to identify which feet you need and there's a pretty good chance Jenny has them in stock.
