I cannot wait to start a project on this lovely.

Wow, I have one exactly like it, stool and all! Cool!!! Very beautiful machine and cabinet. :)

What a beauty!
|
I know it is a Singer, but what is it? Model?
|
It is a 201-2.

You got what is a dream setup to me! A 201 AND the Deco desk! I think that was the high end setup when it was new. To me it still is. Thanks to the kindness of a fellow member here I now have the 201 part of the package. I'm not sure if it's ok to name names but I am grateful for the gift. :)

I love the desk too!
I have both versions, the one with the rounded cover, and the one with rounded drawers. Only have one stool though. I really like the built in pedal. Right now I have my White 670 in the round cover version (DH has his 201 in the round drawer version). He removed his built in pedal, I still have mine and like using it. |
That's the best of the best.

I have the very same set with stool. Mine is mahogany, but no black trim. It was made in several flavors. It is a fabulous machine, top of the Singer line. DH says one of these machines can wear out four ladies. It is well made and sews very strong and very well. Parts are still available. l

That's one sweet setup!

Love it. That's on my list. Only saw one a long time ago - very expensive. Am still waiting.

You won't regret it!! Very nice looking

I too have that same cabinet (not two toned though) but it has a 15-91 in it. There were a lot of goodies in the drawers also. Sounds like you made out really well with this set up. Enjoy!

I, too, have the same set-up, stool and all with all the goodies still in the drawers and the stool. I guess I better get over the bad taste that continues to linger with me nearly 15 years after getting into a bidding war with the wife of the auctioneer for it. She made me pay $160 for it, and I thought that was outrageous--at the time it was, actually, because the old Singers had not even come on anyone's radar, and in my mind, I should have gotten it for $50 tops. For years I did not go to another one of their auctions. I love that machine to the moon and back; and use it every time I am out in my sewing room while my son is quilting for me. Everyone who visits me out there who wants to do some sewing uses it and just gushes over it being so smooth and quiet.

Your machine is beautiful, looks brand new!
I purchased a 201 in the deco cabinet at an auction about 20 years ago, for $20. Originally I bought it for the cabinet, but the 201 inside has become my favorite machine. |
