Macybaby & her DH just delivered a beautiful Minnesota C and it is gorgeous. A little cleaning and a "new" case or cabinet is all it needs. I am so delighted with it and grateful. WooHoo!

Beautiful! Made by Davis and uses Boye 10 or MTx190 industrial needles. I have a Minnesota S with the same decals.

I've been looking all over, Needlebar, Sears, ISMACS but can't find anything more about this machine with # D2555102. Any other resources to find a production date? Currently, I just keep looking at it and feeling really lucky.

From a dated warranty of a Minnesota C in the Davis Yahoo group, your C would be from c. 1911. The "C" is a Davis model M and use a Davis long needle. Best Source of neat information about the C is old or reprinted Sears catalogs from the early 1900's.

It really is a pretty machine - and I'm so glad to find someone who really wanted one like it. Plus it's always fun to be an enabler! It's nice to have one of in the hands of someone who loves it as a sewing machine so it does not end up being a table lamp or centerpiece with plastic flowers glued to it!

I put a large stone Chinese Checkers board then a small rug on top of my Standard treadle and set 'Minnie' (yes, it's a terribly obvious name) on it. Now the search begins for a good cabinet for it. I'll take any tips about what style of cabinet would be appropriate for her. I think I've been bit well & good by the vintage machine bug.
