I love it!!!! I hope you find a belt for it.

roseOfsharon 07-12-2010 08:07 AM

AWWW an absolute beauty she is too! Love the color and she seems in good shape and can do many functions too! Great find and deal!

I am confident you will be able to find a belt that will fit to work in the machine ... :)

Your Princess is Pretty in Pink! Love it!

dixiechunk 07-12-2010 10:34 AM

I am pink with envy! At 50+ my favorite color became pink and I haved scoured e-bay for a pink machine ever since. Then I gave up and got a refurbished pink FW which I love. Your find is great and I see no reason why this machine can't be restored to good working condition. Enjoy!

damaquilts 07-12-2010 11:49 AM

That's so pretty. Great find have fun with it.
I wish something like that would show up around here. My daughter said if I could find her a pink sewing machine she would sew. LOL And the name suits her perfectly.

sunflower sue 07-12-2010 06:04 PM

Love the machine, so retro !! I have never seen one like it.

Annz 07-12-2010 10:36 PM

Got to love pink.

Candace 07-13-2010 07:15 AM

Keep looking on CL folks. This one was listed for at least 4 days. I had problems reaching the seller and getting an appt. to see it and pick it up. In the 4 days it was listed, NO ONE else called or e-mailed about it. These retro, yet not quite antique machines, may be easier to get than you think. Of course, there are lots of folks selling machines on CL and trying to get a crazy amount of money. No way am I going to spend $75-$200 on a fairly common, vintage machine that needs work. But, if you can pick one up for less than $30 they're so cute even as a focal point for decorating.

Dee 07-13-2010 04:11 PM

What a Princess in Pink.I love it. What a beautiful lady.

Lostn51 07-13-2010 04:53 PM

Okay the manual I have is for that machine and I have scanned it and its ready to be mailed!! That is a really neat machine and all of the things it can do you wont need another machine for anything but a different color thread.

Billy

Candace 07-13-2010 06:01 PM

That's awesome Billy and you have perfect timing. I got a new(used) belt today and it's too small. I found a neat, hole in the wall local where they have a ton of old sewing machines that they scavange parts off of. Unfotunately, I'll have to get a bit larger one. But for now it works. I'm having a heck of a time getting it to sew though so the manual would be fantastic! I'm sure I've got it threaded incorrectly or a button pushed or something:< I'll PM you.

mygirl66 07-13-2010 06:04 PM

AWESOME!!!!!!

fktsewing 07-14-2010 08:44 AM

How cool!!! What a neat looking machine. Sounds like you got it for a great price too!! Someday, I keep telling myself, I will find a special old & forgotten to adopt.
Enjoy!!!

Lostn51 07-17-2010 09:28 AM

Candace I am sorry it took so long to get this ready to send to you but you manual is scanned and converted to PDF and I will be mailing it to you today.

If there is anyone else that needs a copy of this manual let me know and I can forward it to you also!!

Billy

Candace 07-17-2010 09:45 AM

Thanks so much, Billy. You're a sweetheart. Let me know if you want that belt, too and I'll pop it in the mail.

Yarn or Fabric 07-17-2010 12:46 PM

I have to start off saying that I don't collect sewing machines and I usually turn my back to them at the second hand stores... and I don't care for the color pink at all.. ...

having said all of that - oh.my.god! That is a gorgeous sewing machine!!! I would have totally snagged that!! It is just too cool to pass by - you totally scored!!!

Candace 07-17-2010 01:04 PM

Thanks, though I'm having a really tough time getting it to sew. I'm hoping the manual gives me an ah-ha moment, cause there's no way I plan on spending a ton of money fixing it. At least it will make a neat doorstop if I can't get it sewing properly. hehehe.

Yarn or Fabric 07-17-2010 05:26 PM

It would look really pretty on a shelf too if you can't give it the breath of life. Don't give up on her - she is too pretty to pass by!

n2scraplvr 07-17-2010 06:14 PM

Oh, my.....what a steal....you lucky, lucky lady!!! Enjoy your treasure!! ;) ;)

stitchhappy 07-20-2010 07:29 AM

OMG! I love it and I want one. I've never seen one like that before and I too would have grabbed it in a heartbeat. Lucky you!!!

Mattee 08-24-2010 11:17 AM

I just saw one of those for $150 at a local antique mall. I would definately have bought it for $20, but I'm not gambling on $150. I don't even know if it works! It is adorable though, and I wish the one I saw were more in my price range!

annieshane 08-24-2010 11:20 AM

Great buy, even if you might need some minor repairs. It is amazing what a good cleaning and light oiling can do to these classic machines. Good luck! Can just see that beautiful little girl sitting in front of this lovely pink machine and smiling from ear to ear. Such wonderful memories in the making.

It was just like this one and pink?

It's still awaiting a trip to the repair shop. It may sit a bit longer!

Mattee 08-24-2010 05:03 PM

It was just like this one - but it was in a white cabinet. I'm not sure if the cabinet cost extra. Same name on the motor. I came home to search for it on the web, and yours came up. They look identical.

mawmawbeve_60 08-24-2010 05:12 PM

way cool.....congrats

purplefiend 08-24-2010 05:17 PM

These brightly colored Japanese machines are so pretty. They
usually sew great too.

Mariposa 08-24-2010 05:46 PM

Wow! Neat find! Hope she serves you well!

daisey 08-24-2010 06:24 PM

I love it and love the old machines...

Candace 11-12-2010 11:36 AM

Just an update....I tried and tried but couldn't get it to sew. I hemmed and hawed as I really don't want to put a ton of money into it. But, I took it in today to the local sewing machine repair place. Immediately he told me the feed dog is broken. So, for $69.99 he'll get her up and running. So, a $20 machine is now $100 machine. Since I also had to buy a new belt. And I asked him to go through his old machines and see if he has any feet or a carrying case...so cha-ching. Maybe I'm dumb, but I just think the machine is too cute to part out.

Prissnboot 11-12-2010 11:41 AM

a pink sewing machine AND it says Princess on it? I live in Houston so I guess I'll let you keep it! Hope it works!

I bought it locally through Craigs List. It seems to be a Morse model where very few were made, because I've searched many Morse sites and have not found a pink one exactly like this. I have seen one other of this same model on the internet, but it was white.

Candace 11-12-2010 06:06 PM

Just found one on ebay!! But, it's the white one... http://cgi.ebay.com/MORSE-PRINCESS-4...#ht_500wt_1055

These sewing machines look more like old radios than sewing machines.

Crabby Patty 11-13-2010 01:05 PM

I bought a Morse machine about a year ago at a second hand store. It was in the 1/2 off section. Original price was $25 so I paid $12.50 for it. It is just like the one on the manual previously mentioned. I googled it and found it was made in Japan at the Toyota co. with the same steel used in their cars. Mine is traditional green, weighs about 2 ton.lol It takes about 2 men and a boy to lift it. Needless to say I don't move it around much. It works wonderful. Good luck with yours. She sure is pretty.

Candace 11-16-2010 02:30 PM

Yay!!! I just got it home and she's alive! She does some cute stitches and is a speedy little devil. I don't know if I'll actually put much use on it, but I at least know my 5 year old niece won't mess her up and break it when I teach her to sew and quilt.

nwm50 11-16-2010 02:43 PM

Such a charming machine....hopes it works for ya and then neice can have fun learning to sew with this and have a very memorable memories of you.
