It looks like it's never been used, great find. Love your dog as well.

NannySandy 03-21-2011 07:48 AM

You could name her "Tanner".

leaha 03-21-2011 08:12 AM

oh congrats on your new FW, welcome to the club! I have 2 black ones now, but think my sister is going to make off with one of them LOL

Rumbols 03-21-2011 09:25 AM

Congrats. I have a black one. But I think your tan looks better. LOL

Yooper32 03-21-2011 09:31 AM

I want a white one or a pale green, but there is no way, they go for huge prices, so I have to bee happy with my Toni.

Nikki and Co. 03-21-2011 09:32 AM

I am so jealous............the tan ones are hard to find. Congrats and enjoy!

Granny Coy 03-21-2011 09:39 AM

Your machine is beautiful. Does it zig-zag? I have an old Kenmore that is suppose to but doesn't. Mostly I don't need it but sometimes I do. I have to do that at my therapy class where we make quilts for foster care kids. Some of the machines there do zig and zag both. Ha! Ha!

wolph33 03-21-2011 09:44 AM

great machine

grannypat7925 03-21-2011 09:53 AM

Looks like you have a real prize!! Enjoy!

Yep...Craigslist...and 5 days after it was posted. I guess people in my area aren't too interested in them. The guy I got it from repairs and collects certain types of sewing machines, but seems to think featherweights are overrated and overpriced. I think the only reason he even bothered picking up this one was because he'd never seen a tan one before. I paid $225, no case and no attachments. Maybe I'll check out our thrift and antique shops and see if I can turn up something else.

What the shine is covering up are some scratches and some touch up paint that somebody used that doesn't quite match the original tan. But it seems to sew well and that's the important part!

Thanks! Haha! My brother showed a full 60 seconds interest in the mechanics of it and then disappeared, I don't think I have to be too worried about him making off with it.

Very pretty tan FW, she's the twin to mine.

There was an ad for a white one on another website that I saw but it was further away from me. Also, something about the ad just seemed off, and before I could get in contact with them the ad expired. Maybe someday I'll come across another one, they're really cute!

wvdek 03-21-2011 11:10 AM

She's a beauty. You did good! YOu will get many good years out of her.
Will you come clean my car next? Country roads are heck on cars. I wash about once or twice a year and let the rain do the rest.

Oh cool! Is yours a 221K too? After I got mine I started looking around at others. The only other tan ones I've seen online are 221Js. I know the K means it was made in Scotland. I don't know what the J means or what the difference would be between them. Yours is pretty too.

Doreen 03-21-2011 11:15 AM

What a beauty! Take good care of her the dog and keep that car more or less clean!

Thanks! I sure hope so. Mine normally doesn't even get cleaned that often. I think the last time it was actually washed was well over a year ago and that was only because my brother got disgusted looking at the pollen on it and took the power washer to the car.

Thanks. Nope, it's just a straight stitch machine. I think there's an attachment you can get to make a zig zag. But I think I read/heard somewhere that some people have had a problem with them messing up their machines.

Susy 03-21-2011 01:04 PM

Oooh, what a beauty! I have a black one and just got the white(greenish), lovin' it!

jhoward 03-21-2011 01:14 PM

Mine is a 221k and has a Canadian made motor on it. I think the "J" means it was made in Canada, not sure though.
Her name is Freddy Barbara for the lovely people who sold her to me. I'd always wanted a tan FW.
