My New (Vintage 99) arrived safely!!
 

Such a nice machine. I'm waiting for it to reach room temperature before seeing how it sews. It has been in transport for several days and it was quite cold when I opened the package.
It is a bicentennial edition in a pristine bentwood case. It came with cloth guide, foot hemmer, adjustable hemmer, tucker, ruffler, edge stitcher, multislotted binder, gathering foot and blind stitch attachment, 10 bobbins and two packs of needles.
It has masking tape on the bed which I have soaked with oil and will work on removing it gently. Can wd-40 be used on the bed of a sewing machine? My DH wants to soak it in that, but I was worried about damaging the decals.
I never know what these machines should sell for. I hope (and think) that I made a nice deal. $128.00 plus shipping.

I am auditioning names for her to find one that suits.

You REALLY should not use WD-40 on sewing machines.
Not as a lube (it isn't) and not as a cleaner (it isn't)

A lot of folks seem to feel that you have to use the "strongest" thing you can but really really, just using Sewing Machine oil to clean it will be just fine.

Oh, and it is the "centennial" not "bicentennial" It celebrated Singer being in business for 100 years as of 1951 (1851 was their first patent)

I remember '76 too, and had the same issue when I started collecting, I kept calling it bicentennial myself!

Nice! What Steve said. No need for WD-40 on a sewing machine. Sewing machine oil is just fine. Nice set of attachments too.

Thanks all, I thought wd-40 would be wrong to use, glad I used plain smo. I do stand corrected and will try to remember Centennial and drop the BI.
