There are a few of the board members that wanted to see my collection. I enjoy everyone of them. I refinished Blueberry with Automotive Paint and Clearcoat. The Queen Mother is the first one I bought. Found her at the Goodwill for $24.99. She is the one that started all of this. I almost forgot to post the 99K He (Charlie) would have felt leftout...LOL

I have been thinking about selling a couple of them. The 185 K, Jasmine, and the 301 A in the cabinet. Maybe the 99K.

Did you do the painting yourself? If so, I'd like to hear yor story and directions about that. All the machines look in A-1 condition.

np3 10-12-2010 12:11 PM

They all look perfect!

Debbie B 10-12-2010 12:34 PM

That is one great collection. And I love Blueberry!!!

featherweight 10-12-2010 12:43 PM

I prepared them for paint and I had a friend spray for me. I did not want to get runs or orange peel in them. Then I reassemble it and it sews great...It is sooooo much work I would never do another one. I have one all ready to paint and have had it ready for 5 years. I hope I haven't forgot how to reassemble it.

They are nice. One of these days I'll have to get a 301. In the meantime. I'll be content with my 'dark ladies.'

You will love it. You will be able to do FMQ with that one. Enjoy.

Debbie B 10-13-2010 09:38 AM

Can you free motion quilt with the 15-99?

featherweight 10-13-2010 09:42 AM

I don't know anything about the 15. You can not FMQ with the 99. The feeddogs do not drop in that machine. You can FMQ if you buy the attachment that covers the feeddogs and I believe then you could.

k9dancer 10-13-2010 10:50 AM

Hey, I just finished a king sized quilt that I free motion quilted on my 1951 Featherweight. No, the feed dogs do not drop. BUT, ......drum roll...... you can have the same effect by putting the stitch length at 0, no forward or back motion, and go from there. You will have to lighten the pressure on the presser foot, and probably ease up on your top tension, and you may have to adjust the bobbin tension, but I'm here to tell you that it can be done. I think you could do the same on the 99.
BTW, I do have the feed dog cover, and I prefer to work without it.

dyer804 10-13-2010 11:34 AM

I love that little blue one. My favorite color!

To much trouble to adjust all that stuff for me. I'll just use a different machine.

Matilda 10-13-2010 01:25 PM

Very nice collection!

libbyb 10-13-2010 05:03 PM

The brown one looks like the ones that we used in Home Ec. class in 63' I think it was. Libby

I love your collection! They are all so beautiful to look at :-D I someday want to paint an old dilapidated machine and I can't decide on color, maybe red or fushia or lime green.
