"naked lady" sewing machine

My husband was at the thrift store today, and from what he described it is the singer machine with the "naked lady" decals. We are going tomorrow to look at it. He says the machine itself is in bad shape and some of the decals on the base and top are worn, but the side decals are in good shape. Without a lot of work it would probably just be a conversation piece. Can anyone tell me anything about this machine and what would you pay?

After further research, I think is the Sphinx decals. From what he described, it has a shuttle bobbin. Are these fun to sew on?

Could it be this one? http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...y-t227599.html

do the lot of work - it will be worth it when you get it all done

if it is a Singer Sphinx machine it will be a really good machine, if it is a Frister and Rossmann Model E it will be a great machine.

We went and picked up the machine. It is in better shape than I thought. It is the Singer with the Sphinx. There was no bobbin, though, so I'll need to find one of those. I'll post pics after I clean it up a bit. Thanks for the input!

I found a Sphinx Singer for $50.00 in the treadle cabinet...cabinet is kinda beat up (water damage) but the machine works well.......I hate having to wind those "bullet" bobbins, but no choice about that...wish the modern bobbin winders would allow a fit for the old bobbins....... the machine is well worth repairing and cleaning and etc......using a treadle gives you a bit of a workout...good exercise while you are sitting........

The only argument I have with the long bobbins is they don't hold as much thread as the round bobbins.
I've kind of gotten spoiled that way. Other than I like them.

I'm wondering just how much difference there is between the long bobbins and the round bobbins as far as how much they will hold. I've thought about winding one on...
