Need help attaching a foot presser assembly on an Elna

Hi all, first time poster here so pardon me if I make a mistake. I was recently given an Elna Supermatic model 722010 and it looks like a fantastic machine except it was missing the entire presser foot assembly in the front. I ordered a new assembly, but I don't know how to attach it. Does anyone here know where I can resolve this? Thanks!

Here is the front:

Here is the piece I am trying to connect:

This piece looks like it should connect but it doesn't:

Hi Welcome to the boards!

Hmm.. new needle bar assembly.
I found a photo of a Singer 301 longbed so you can sort of see how the basic set up is : http://mysewingmachineobsession.blog...-long-bed.html

That piece that looks like it should connect might belong with the round part with the stem the piece your trying to connect. I think that's what makes the bar go up and down. Does it (the machine) have the ability to zig zag? If it does maybe setting it to a basic straight stitch could 'reset' parts to where they should go. It may help with connecting things.

this the bottom of the machine, where the bobbin is located at. Maybe this video could help? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0YGkYvhCFs

This one is repairing the hand wheel where there is a flat spot on the friction gear: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWR6BfXOfzY

I'll keep digging around to see what turns up.

and remember when to walk away and come back later Ive had a few of those moments.

I have a 722010.

I will try to remember to photograph that area and post the photo tonight; if I do not, please PM me to remind me.

You will likely also need a new rubber friction wheel, by the way.

Recommend you join the yahoo elnaheirloom sewing machines group.

You will love the Green Girl once you get her up and running!
