Need help identifying this Singer?

Hi, I've found an old singer in reasonably fair condition but the seller doesn't know what the model is for this Singer. Neither do I for that matter. :o Anyone?

It's a model 99, looks like it's got some wiring issues, but those are an easy fix on these models. Make sure it's got the kneebar! (Those can be a spendy item to buy when you can find them!)

Maybe aSinger 128 from the 50-ies? It has no reverse I think. ask the seller for the serial number right front on a little copper plate. I think it might be a 3/4 size.

Thanks! :) I was thinking it was a smaller machine, when I first saw the photos.
I don't have a 99 but sure would like to have this one. The seller has the knee lift and a few other goodies so I'm seriously considering it. The info I've found says it's a smaller version of the 66-16. Cool! I bought a 66 on Saturday! Does the 99 have a drop in bobbin as well? |
:) Yes, the 99 is a 3/4 size. What are they asking for it?
|
The 99 is the 3/4" size version of the 66 ... more or less.
Anna Quilts, it is a round bobbin machine, the 128 is a shuttle bobbin machine. Joe |
He's wanting to barter, so I'm offering up a 10" Rigid compound miter saw with a laser. Worth about $120 or so..
It's my saw, my husband has one of his own (we have a relationship where his stuff is mine, and my stuff is mine too.) and mine has just sat basically. LOL |
I think if you traded the saw for the machine you'd be getting the short end of the deal. The seller needs to up the ante a bit. That machine isn't worth much more than $50.00 or so max in my opinion.

Thanks for the info Joe! I'll be sure to ask what else he has. I love dickering!

I think Joe is right! :) Good luck dickering!! (and have FUN with it! :D )
|
I agree..you can pick them up for about 50.00

It's a 99-13; Electric portable with wooden cover or carrying case, knee control. I got mine from http://www.shopgoodwill.com the machine cost me 22.00 and the shipping was 33.74 so it totalled out at 55.74. Mine is in really good condition. I do plan to rewire it because of the age of the wiring. I've seen the 99's there quite often.
