Needle won’t stay in centre and ....

My needle won’t stay in the centre position and the vibration of sewing straight stitch makes the bight control change so it’s starting to zig zag. How do I stop that? Is it an easy fix? So frustrating to have to always adjust the bight control.

What is the make and model number of your sewing machine?

i am struggling over "bight control" Since we are an international group, I have to ask, Is this a term for left, right center, needle position?

I believe the machine being referred to is of the Singer 206, 306, 319 family. The Bight Control is the round knobby thing that controls the needle position and ZZ width control. It is located near the inside of where the arm and pillar meet.

Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.
