Never thought this would happen.
Over the past year I have been piecing quilt tops using both my 301A and 401A and really loving every moment.Last night my son needed his work pants patched so,rather than change feet and thread,I took the cover off my Brother Quattro thinking I would give it a bit of a run.OMG..I absolutely hated using it so I have decided to sell it and just use my old mechanical machines.I have a Janome 350E if I need to do embroidery.

They certainly attach to us, don't they? :) |
Sure glad I never bought a fancy machine.. I love sewing on my Singer 66, and 99's.. I have a Singer 247 that I need for the zig zag option..

Aren't the old machines wonderful!!!!
|
My Singer 1036 that I purchased in 1979 is my zigzag machine and I hate to use it as well. It is no where near the machine that my 15-91 or 66 treadle are.

I got rid of the Janome - the 403, Elna SU, Japanese 15 clone and other old machines are what I love, too.
|
I still have a couple of "plastic" machines, but I rarely use them. I am on my FW or 301A daily.
|
I love, love, love my old machines....That is why I use them 99 percent of the time...They knew how to make them years ago...
|
Don't rush to sell your newer machine. i was once enthralled with old machines, too, but eventually went back to modern ones. It's true that some new ones are plastic junk, but a good Janome can be a joy to use.

I have kept my older machines for heavy work. I love my electronic machines and use each for different types of sewing. They all have their own quirks and it's just finding out which works best for what.
