new machine coming!
I'm so excited! My husband bought me a 1957 Singer 401 and yes, I am currently stalking the mailman!

Patience KatsKidinWI, it will arrive when it arrives. Just like Christmas day, you can't speed up the clock. But oh how I know what you mean. Every time I have one shipped to me I keep a watchful eye out for it's arrival.
The 401 is one of my favorite Singer machines. When you get it read the oiling and greasing section real good. Or, download the manual from the Singer site and study it while you wait. They are oil hogs, and have some annoying idiosyncrasies caused by the lack or or gumming up of oil. Joe |
You can find a lot of info on here, too. Search is up in the top corner.

Awesome, congrats!

What KatsKid isn't telling you is her mother bought her a 401 about a year ago. She complained so much about having to pick it up that KatsKid's mother gave it to the KatsKid's kid. Now KatsKid's kid won't let KatsKid use her machine so KatsKid had to go buy another one.
Did everyone follow that? Kat'sKid's Mom ArizonaKAT |
Awesome! sounds like my family for sure...

That's why I have two (2) Singer 500As. Mine and an extra one my wife can use. :D

ArizonaKat - you kracked me up! ;0)
when I was 20, my license plate said 'lara's Z'. I tried to get my family to play - Lara's Mom, Lara's Dad, Lara's Bro, Sis, etc. Mom was still friendly with the Ex. I thought it would be so fun! Well, it wasn't a very popular idea amongst the family, esp since a personalized plate in NC costs mucho dollars. every year. <shrug> Reading what you wrote was SO fun . . ;0)) |
Yeah, its here! Still boxed up but it is here!
