National Rotary with the swing away motor and "foot" shaped control, in a nice bentwood case.

Older National "Eldredge" Two Spool. This one came from Cogito - and has a very nice cabinet. It's got the older style spool holder with the "wings" on it.

A 206, also from Cogito.

The Damascus Grand. This is also a National machine. This is the one Joe picked up for me, and also has a nice small parlor style cabinet

And another Singer 15-30. This one came in the embossed style parlor cabinet -

There is also an Elna that DH has put in his room with his other machines. It's a much newer machine than this group.

Great looking machines.

Beautiful collection. Now, when will you start your second new shed? ha, ha!

Sewnoma 04-16-2015 05:36 AM

I love the decals on that Damascus Grand. So beautiful.

I wish modern sewing machines were even HALF as lovely as these old beauties.

J Miller 04-16-2015 05:41 AM

That 206, well actually the earlier version would look really good as a treadle machine. That's what I'm considering putting in the last cabinet you gave me. That Damascus Grand is really a nice machine. I'm glad I could facilitate it's adoption into a good home. Joe

Yummy! You've added some really lovely ones! I love the decals on that Damascus Grand and the black Singer..is that a 206? I wouldn't mind stumbling onto one like that!

Macybaby 04-16-2015 01:20 PM

We stopped at Cogito's place on our way home. Had no idea she had a second machine for me. We had stopped at a place in MO and say a really beat up 306 in a case with no price. The clerk called the booth owner but could not get ahold of them, so that machine got left there.

So two days later while picking up the Two Spool, when Cogito pulled out the 206 and asked if I wanted it to - it was a big YES! So it worked out, I didn't get the 306 but I have the 206. I already have a 319 at home. The 206 has a sad history, and needs some parts to be made usable, but even if it does not get up and running, it's a nice item to have on the display shelf.

Lovely machines, I would never have enough hours in the day to play with them all.

Hey Cathy....isn't that a 306M (made in Italy) not a 206? Pretty sure it is....lol.

Macybaby 04-17-2015 04:50 AM

hehe - Cogito - you are right! I had looked at it in the box without the cam part, and "assumed" it was a 206, but it says 306 right on it!

I love it either way, very happy to have it. No idea it we'll get it up and running, but my husband does love a challenge!

What is the little "potato ricer" thingy on the first machine?

SteveH 04-17-2015 12:53 PM

that is the rheostat portion of the foot pedal. It appears to be disconnected from the foot pedal in this pic.

J Miller 04-17-2015 01:06 PM

Actually the rheostat is attached to the side of the controller. The foot part is shaped like a foot and is to the right under the arm of the machine. You can see part of it behind the motor. I got to fondle it a bit while Macybaby was here. I've put a controller like that on my want list now.

Joe

SteveH 04-17-2015 01:23 PM

well, on mine the rheostat is in that ""potato ricer thingy"

I had to chuckle.

On some of those controllers, if you plug it in and mash on the "foot", you'll think a "potato ricer thingy" just got turned loose in your space!!! LOL!

The Newcomers are quite nice, have fun with them!

Macybaby 04-17-2015 03:41 PM

Here are a few more pictures of the potato ricer.

I've been out painting my machine shed Red - but it's suppose to rain later so I had to quit for the night.

That Eldridge just made my little ole heart go pitty pat. What a beauty.

Showed to a friend this morning and told him it's like this in case you forget how to use it :D

Just another look at that wiring Cathy and I'm wondering who wrapped the electrical tape around the power cord. Don't want to be a panic merchant but I'd be replacing that wiring with new. Usually the insulation is cracked at that stage.

Hmm.. you don't sell your extras but share them. Having been a beneficiary of your kindness in the past I'm wondering now what you have. If you have a spreadsheet of your swapsies and your needs do you want to share it with, for example, me? :p

manicmike, I'm slowing going through what I have, and until I get into the new building, it's slow going! I plan on going through my puzzle box stuff this weekend. I wanted to have 3-4 complete boxes - and some day I'll nab a really early one (got outbid at $110 on the last one).

I'm not sure how many I have now, however I've got lots and lots of puzzle pieces that came with other stuff. I've got two people I'm sending parts too, and hopefully there will be a few more with puzzle boxes they need a few missing pieces for. Though I know I do not have extra screwdrivers. The number one missing pieces from any set of attachments are the screwdrivers and stilleto.

Some day - I'll have given away the "extras" and be down to what I want to keep. I never intended to end up with parts I didn't want, unfortunately way too often, the one part I do what shows up in a pile of common parts I already have an overabundance of.

$110 seems an awful lot for a puzzle box. I paid only $63.40 for my last one, for a model 15 and also missing the screwdrivers and stiletto. A complete one certainly seems very elusive.

Macybaby 04-18-2015 05:40 AM

there are only a few I'd pay that kind of price for.

The very first one has a different type of hemmer foot adapter - so far I've only seen one on eBay in two years. That's the one I got outbid on.

The other is for the Model 24, and so far I've seen two of them come up on eBay - and I have one of them now!

But just about any of the others - no, they are way, way to common so you'd never need to pay that kind of money, though that does not stop sellers from asking.

Complete sets do sell for more, as very few of what gets listed is complete. However you can often buy two partials to make one complete for less.
