I bought a little girl Featherweight 4 yrs ago. Got her fixed and with your help, found out she was made in 1929. Today was the first time i got to use her. WOW!!! now I know what all the talk is about. she hums like a new engine was in her. I can't wait to use her on a new project tomorrow. Now I want more, but don't have anyplace to put more. as it is now. she's in the corner of the kitchen, but she's tiny. I love her!!!

Lynnie, have fun with your FW tomorrow. Yes, they are sweet little machines!

Mine is so quiet that I told my DH that I could sew in church and nobody would know it.

You'll love her. I have two, but use the most beat up one. The 'good' one was my MIL's and the decals and finish look good. I just do better piecing on my FW. Glad you're in the group, Lynnie!

Aren't they great? I love mine, also. You might want to recheck the number on your machine with the Singer site. Featherweights were not produced until 1933. Have fun with her!

Lucky you. Enjoy her when you are not PPing.

Aren't Featherweights fun! ! Mine is a Centennial Edition: 1851-1951 One of the reasons Featherweights sew so well is that they do not zig-zag, so the feed dogs are closer together and feed the fabric better for a quarter inch seam. I love piecing on mine. And they are so quiet!

Welcome to the featherweight group-you will love using it.

with Mariposa's help, i found out she was manufactured in December 1939. Everyone here is so helpful.
when i originally bought her 4 yrs ago, i asked here about the price and what to look for, again I was helped by someone on the board. so thank you everyone. All her decals are so shiny and pretty, her box doesn't smell musty, I guess because I bought her at a second hand store and the box aired out there. i love her. and she is so quiet too.
