New to vintage treadle machine sewing.
 

Recently acquired a Damascus Rotary treadle machine with tulip decals, and more recently purchased round bobbins to fit the bobbin case. Already have the new belt, as long with the old one; just need to clean machine, add belt, wind a bobbin, place a needle & sew.
Question: what needle do I look for?
How can I verify it's age?

I have only seen 1 photo of the same machine in my researching, but no date of origin; apparently made for Montgomery Ward.
I used the family owned 1917 vintage Singer vibrating shuttle often in the 1970's for sewing on knits for my choir performance clothing.
Now to use a treadle, it's very exciting. I live in the Sierra Nevada mountains & have intermittent power shut offs & like the option of treadling & not just hand quilting with the generator running (loudly) in the background.

Welcome. Damascus Rotary was made for Montgomery Ward by National. There are no dating records for National so any dating estimates would be from a photo. The non standard needle is called Eldredge Rotary, Boye #21, and DD1221 to name a few. Needles can be found on ebay.
