Not sure if this is a good price...
 

There's a single-owner 1955 Singer 15 in cabinet with foot and knee control, being offered for $125.
I know there were a gazillion of these made so if I pass on this, I'm sure I'll cross paths with another. But the decals are in great shape which bodes well for the rest of the finish. Assuming its not missing parts (which I doubt, since the ad says it sews) and the cabinet's not beat to heck, is $125 fair? a bit high? a real "steal"?
[I know, I know... a "good price" depends on the market, what you're willing to spend, what it's worth to you, etc. etc. But I'm new to this arena (fully hooked! lol but still learning)... so, all input appreciated!

My main concern would be the wiring. Is it a 15-91 with the potted motor? Is the manual with it? Any acceasories?

Like Joe said, I think it's a good price if it's a 15-91, which is the machine with the potted motor and good wiring. The potted motor is the one that has direct drive (no belt). Make sure you get all the accessories they have. Most of these machines had buttonholers and a box of different feet. Mine had a zig-zag attachment, which had never been used. (I know that because it was my mom's).

You can also make an offer it if has all the manuals and attachments and the right machine. It sounds like a good price if everything is included and no harm no foul if they want full price.

In my opinion as someone who has bought and sold old cars and antiques, always make a lower offer. All they can do is say no. You can then decide if you want to pay that much or not.
