This is utterly bizarre, zig zagging on a treadle. It works very well! A treadle machine capable of zig zag stitching, cam-able and reversible and drop feed. Utterly bizarre.

I like it!. That one had me fooled. I didn't know it took cams too. Buy another lift assist from a parted out treadle and paint it to match your machine. Your machine will look like it's always been there.

That is what one of my treadle cabinets will be used for. I don't think it unholy at all.

Looks good. There are several zigzag machines that can be treadled. A favorite I've seen online many times is the Singer 237, which will be much more common in the U.S. than the 226. Once I get moved I plan on seeing which of my vintage Brother machines will treadle well.
