I bought one exactly like that one about a month ago at an Alabama flea market for $25--he was asking $75, it didn't have a bobbin (we found one and inserted it), the stitch indicator was set at "reverse" and we could not get the machine to even turn over. He said I could have it, he didn't know it didn't work. But I pushed the indicator down to "forward" and the machine did come on and run, so I said $25 and he said OK. I brought it home with me, and it does have some problems (someone chopped the electric line to the light in two); but I am working on them. It really is pretty, a light blue in a really clean cabinet just like the picture shown above. And I did find a number on it; Model No. (I guess) 347. I have been working on it for three days now, and my house stinks to high heaven. I am determined to try to find some TRI-------, whatever, that J Miller keeps suggesting. If any ofyou have any information on it, please tell me. Thanks. Jo Ann

JoAnn,

:) That's Tri-Flow. Here is the easiest place to get it: { http://www.shop.sew-classic.com/ }

Kenmore model numbers are like this: 123-45678 The 158- series were made by Maruzen/Jaguar and are some really nice machines. The wiring for the light is easy to fix, I've done way to many of them. It seams that electrical wires on some of these machines is the first things to get messed up.

Yup, going to skip getting this one. @oldtnquiltinglady...I hope you can get it working, it is such a sense of accomplishment.

Well, I just saw a Singer Fashion Mate just like that come up on CL for $150. That really seems too high.

I also have a Singer 347....blue that my son bought for me at GW for $15. It didn't run at first, but that was because they had it threaded wrong.
