Cari - you have to know that before the first week of April this year, I only had one sewing machine. This whole vintage thing really caught me off guard, I was just as happy as I could be with my 401a for years. Now there are sewing machines in every room on my main living level and the only reason there are none in the loft is that it is filled with my weaving equipment. ...and I still check Craigslist everyday. It is just crazy.

Theresa, it is a slippery slope! It is so much fun to hunt, discover, clean, and get them running again. I love how smooth these old machines are. It's as if they are happy to be working again.

I have a cousin that is going to take her Grandma's, my aunt, 15-125 Singer. I kind of have mixed feelings, I am really happy that the machine is staying in the family, but I regret seeing that really cool looking green machine leave the house. Oh well, so goes life:-)

Should have kept it.... 6 months ago I had a regular machine, 1 server, 1 embroidery machine. Made the mistake of looking on ebay (48 machines later) still looking everyday! I'm 61, didn't need to get hooked on something this late in life.. hehe boy it's fun though

I've got 7 in my kitchen! 2 in my bedroom and more all over the house, except the living room and one bedroom.

It is amazingly "gadgety" isn't it? My grand nephew (then 6) would 'sew' with me on my old Kenmore mechanical IF the top was up and he could see all the stuff moving. It fascinated him. Enjoy it.

Theresa, be sure to invoke the free rehome policy language: "if you ever tire of it, and no one else in the family wants it, I will provide a home for it.". Perhaps include a note on the family history of the machine?

You are all novices! I've got over 150 machines (lost count). Got two more by accident a few weeks ago, a coworker's husband wanted them gone, so she brought them in to work for me (Free in a treadle and a Fashionmate Singer in a small cabinet).

So I expect you all to get with it and start accumulating! (And your more than welcome to come take some of mine LOL!)

Besides being soo pretty (vintage hand crank) you can see how everything works! It's amazing to watch... a lot cheaper than working on cars and you can get more into the same space. lol
