Cool machine, funny I was looking at a 241 sitting outside a place here in town just this morning. They have a sort of semi permanent garage sale there. Guy wants $400 for it. Way too rich for my blood plus it was missing the cover plate on the needle end. Your 31 looks like a very good basic machine to me but I really know nothing about the commercial models.

I just passed one up an decrepit industrial about an hour ago - I was at the flea market - yours looks a little worse. The walking foot was broken or I would have gotten whip lash breaking out some money. DH was along and he kind of was vetoing the idea of something that big with no table and no motor and needing parts..........

However, the person I made that for had just won a coronet tourney (SCA) and asked me as "prince" to make him one. The visors are interchangeable. The brass coronet on the helm is etched with his heraldry and such.

Nope, it only needed a spa treatment to bring it back to fully functional.
