Old German treadle Machine??

Hi Guys, check out this add in my area. Terrible pictures, but I'm wondering if you guys have any knowledge of this brand and if this person is out to lunch with their prices?

I was going to say it looked like a replacement top on the treadle but after a closer look I'm not too certain. It's a pretty machine and certainly an old one but unless it's really a rare machine it isn't worth that in my opinion. I would want something a bit more ornate and complete for the money. A replacement drawer can be built but it wouldn't be an exact match without finding one to copy.
My 2 cents,
Rodney

I appreciate any and all opinions on this.
Thank you.

yeah, if they were offering that for $100 yes, but at that price it had better be complete.

Someone who's name is Jacobsohn might pay a lot for it, but probably not that much. It's hard to tell what it really looks like from those few pictures. As with all antiques...it's worth what someone is willing to pay. My guess is: "Not much". But, time will tell.

You'll notice that Steve sews so quickly, even his treadles heat up too much, and hence he has two fans set up near the treadle.

;-)

LOL, actually that is for a friend of mine who visits most weekends, he is a bigger guy and does not manage heat very well. Add to that the fact that my house has three ladies living in it and is kept reasonably warm most of the time, and there is the reason for the buddy fans.. (although one is GROSS in this picture...)

You only paid $100 for the HARRY POTTER Machine!!!! OMG, I would die if I found one......and found one for that cheep. That is my dream sewing machine.

Well, they WERE asking a lot more. I sent them a message offering encouragement and hopes that they were able to achieve their asking price, but asked them that should that not be the case would they consider my offer of $100, I also link them to the VSS website to show them what I do wit them. They let me know that they would think about it. 3 weeks later they emailed me back and said they would accept my offer. 2.5 hour each way and the machine was mine. (frozen stiff, not turning BTW)
