Parts for Kenmore 158.17033

Sewing machine: Kenmore 158.17033 (probably early 70s). Made in Japan by Singer?

1. Please help with an instruction manual/tutorial for basic operations.
2. Please assist in the repair/adjustment of the tensioner assembly knob. Sears is out of business.
3. I believe this machine uses a Singer shuttle hook part number 2515ZS. Will a generic shuttle hook part number 2525 work with this machine for making straight stitch? Ebay sells a generic 2525 shuttle hook, bobbin case, and bobbins. Any pros/cons regarding their use?

4. Does the foot pedal vary the voltage or frequency sent to the motor? The tag on the motor shows 120 VAC 60 Hz, 1.2A. I'd like to use a rheostat to control the speed since the machine does not come with a foot pedal.

Respectfully,
Furb
