Parts for Singer 347

Does anyone know where you can find out what machines have similar parts such as the motor to a Singer 347. I am trying to restore my wife’s sewing machine which was her moms

I certainly don't know the answer. I would guess that any Singer motor would work. On the refurbs that were done in the war years, they used generic motors.

Are you needing more parts than that? I'm just guessing, but I would think the parts are similar to a 327. I had one that I cleaned up. It was pretty, as the color was really nice. However, It sounded like a freight train. All the oil in the world didn't help. I gave it to one of the neighborhood kids for his mom. She was probably happy with it, as she didn't have a sewing machine.

Someone will be along in the morning who has more knowledge than I do.

I don't know anything about the machine, but one thing I would try would be sewingpartsonline.com They list some parts for the 347, and under every part they usually list what machines it works for. There might be some clues in that list if you are looking for machines that could be salvaged for parts.

My wife has a 347 and 348. Really loves the color of the machines. They are the same except for one has cams.
I have gotten parts from a 338 which most will work.
