Pfaff 1222
Just bought a Pfaff 1222 for $25. She is still getting together any feet and manual when she can. I have the machine and foot pedal, there is a free pdf manual online to print off (71 pages) Any thoughts on this machine???????. Too late to play with tonight, I might love the built in walking ft. Thanks, Vickie

Great machine, as long as you keep the driver gear (behind the bobbin area) clean. I've seen a few with a cracked gear.

I was gifted one without a foot pedal .Bought one for $90 and hooked her up-She sews better than my newer Pfaff!! Very solid sounding machine! You will be amazed I bet!

This is a fabulous, powerful machine. The walking foot is a dream, beats anything made today I acquired an old 1222E (in mint condition, appears never used, for $10.00!) a few years ago and had to print out the instructions but can't remember where. They are on line somewhere. Make sure the plastic cams on top of the machine that make it possible to do the decorative stitches are not cracked. I own a high end Janome, mid-price Bernina, Singer Featherweight and a Singer 99 and I still think this machine is WONDERFUL. Have fun!

Newest machine in my collection is a 1222SE. The only ordinary thing to be extra careful of is the power button. They break easily and there are no new replacements. Turn it on at the button and use a plug strip to power it off and on. It is a glorious tank of a machine.

If this is the same power button as the 1222 and 1222E, this is not true. I've replaced 2 in the past 6 months.
http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/lig...112000-02.aspx Probably the same button. But is was a few years ago and replaced by SMG who had to get one from a parts machine at the time. He may have been a touch over-dramatic and I was not into the self-repair scene yet  |
