It's a bit of a brighter red than brick, but after my glitter paint was discontinued I decided to go with left over paint that I already had. We have a bunch of niches in our stairway that I had painted a bunch of bright colors. I think 7 or 8 niches all painted with a different color paint. You could say that I've got color and I'm not afraid to use it:> This red is the red pulled from one of those niches. It's a Sherwin Williams semi-gloss called "Real Red".

The red sets off the machine nicely - brown would camouflage it.

Wow! Great job on both cabinet and machine, and they go together so well! I normally would not paint a cabinet, but in this case, with the condition it was in, I think you did the right thing. Did you use wood filler and then sand and paint or was sanding enough? Did you have veneer on the cabinet or solid wood? GREAT JOB!!!

I had to use wood filler in several areas and sand. The legs and rails are wood, but the rest was veneer that was in really poor condition. I had to glue it in many areas. And the veneer was very thin, thinner than on Singer tables. If I had to do it over, I'd do a primer first. I had thought the paint was thick enough to give good coverage, but I had to apply probably 5 coats of it!

That turned out to be a beautiful machine, and I love the cabinet. Red in the north is the thing for this year of the Snake.....Put it in a north corner or on a north wall for good luck.....
