I have a 7570, I looked in the Instruction Book and all it says is to Not Turn off the machine while changing the battery or it will delete the memories that are stored. I hope you did not lose the ones that are permanently on the machine. If so, you may have to find another computer board, our machines are getting old and my repairman said he has to use parts from other machines.

I know, but the machine was turned off to change the batteries--could be scary!

I recently bought the Pfaff 7570 (and love it) and noticed in the instruction book something about a battery. Why is a battery needed at all if you sew electrically??

Swannie,

The batteries are in there to keep the memories on the machines when they are unplugged. Just like the batteries in your PC.

I have a Pfaff 7570 and have found someone through E-Bay who may be able to help. He sells Pfaff accessories. Here's his website http://www.accusew.com His recommendation to me was to change out the current batteries to leak proof Energizer E2 Lithium to assure that the board doesn't get damaged. It costs $395. to rebuild.
