Pfaff question for you

Does anyone know when Pfaff first introduced the IDT (dual feed dogs)? I was wondering if I should look for an older, non-computerized Pfaff machine, but I still want the dual feed dogs, and I have no idea how far back that takes me...Thanks in advance for any help.

Research the 1222 or 1221 models or maybe a few later. They're great machines.

I have a 1475 with the walking foot -- sure makes piecing easier

My Pfaff is a hobbymatic 935 from 1993 and it still does a great job. It has the built-in dual feed. Perfect for quilting.

I have a 7530 with dual feed dogs. It's 17 years old and runs like a champ. You can sometimes find them on Ebay for less than 500

I have a 7570 and it's a great machine...The only thing I've had to do is replace the needle threader and that's a cinch to do. I've had mine for about 12 years?

I have the 1171 with the IDT foot and it was the first one I bought when I wanted to learn to quilt. Bought it in 1997 for around $1,000 brand new and still have it even tho I now have a Bernina 440 QE as my main machine. My son was looking at my Phaff just the other day as he wants to make camping/hiking back packs for him, his wife and son. He found a web site showing how to sew them and he said the Phaff with the IDT foot is popular with the guys that do this type of sewing. The web site is www.DIYtactical.com if anyone is interested in this type of sewing project. There are a lot of projects of different types on this site.
