Pretty machine! When I was looking for a 15 or 115 the kind folks on this board said that a 15 is an oscillating hook and the 115 is a rotary. I bought a 115 which they also said was a little more rare. Plus, since it is a rotary hook it has a bit better tension when making quick turns. Enjoy your new baby. Her cabinet is gorgeous! Mine came in a rather plain 5 drawer maple treadle cabinet and has the Tiffany Gingerbread decals too.

You do have a very nice sewing machine. I often wonder about the travels of the sewing machine that were made in Europe and are now residing here in the US. What a story they could tell if they could.

oh my goodness. I love her. I think she is pretty just as she is. Bet you have a name for her already. She is wonderful. Wish I could help ID her, but haven't a clue. Thanks for sharing the picture.

Serial # C5863299 ; No model # that I can find.

She may not look to pretty but she runs and makes a beautiful stitch.

I am looking for a manual to go with her.

The stamping of the serial numbers isn't always easy for me to read. I am wondering if the alpha on your serial number is a "G" rather than a "C"? If yes, here is the information I found on ismacs:

Below is a picture of the serial number on my machine. I read mine as a "G". I pasted the ismacs info for this serial number too showing that my machine is a 115:

@ Judythesewer, Thanks for the info. I checked my serial# and for sure it is a 'C'. The letter is san-serif.

I have a 66 singer, a 1591 and a 99k. And they all work. Love them.
Love your machine. Do you have any more antiques?
