Has anyone ever heard of this machine? I think electric was put into to at a later time.
Thank you!
Stefanie

I think I've seen one of these recently (like, on eBay). Are you in Australia?

sdgangone 10-02-2013 04:02 AM

Nope, im in New York.

I have not seen this machine before.

SteveH 10-02-2013 07:18 AM

it is almost identical to my New National / New Home handcrank here

sdgangone 10-02-2013 07:33 AM

Wow Beautiful Machine!!

It is possible the original brand name was painted over on my machine.

looks like my Vindex Special - mine has a very messed up table. I put a steering wheel spinner on it and let kids play with it.

That machine is named Donna Donor. She has a few parts missing but I love her anyway. She has kept lots of Slant-O-Matic machines alive. She still has some good parts left. She cost me $25 but she has saved me way over that much.

HI I have recently come across this machine in it's original case and I was wondering if you found out any information on it? A search of the web doesn't seem to leac me anywhere but here. It's a beautiful machine.

Wow. I have the same machine and the cabinet looks to be the same, too. The first thing I'm trying to find out is how to thread it. Mine is in really great condition and I'd like to try it out. Not sure how to get the bobbin going, too.
It's been really hard trying to find information on this machine. Mine looks to be electric right from the start. I'm thinking '50s, possible older.

This is a New Home made machine, Model T - badged as "Plaza" New Home made this model and put several different names on it.

Mine is a Model T, version 3. I have the manual for it, but it's at home and I'm at work so cant' dig it out right now.

Hey Cathy, love the addiction. Thanks!
It also looks like I'm missing the shuttle. Gotta find one of them somewhere.
I also find out in the meantime that it's probably pretty close to being manufactured around 1936, based on the run of serial numbers. Very cool.
This means my wife's suspicion was correct: her mother got this machine from my wife's Grandmother.

Thanks, Sabine.

Issaquah. Been cross-country skiing in Snoqualmie and looking for houses kinda in the Snohomish area. If only the job came through...

Thanks again,
phil

Mine takes the regular size New Home shuttle, expect to pay $10-$20 for one - if you also need attachments, then look for a set of New Home that has a shuttle included (and then cross your fingers it's actually for a New Home machine, and not something else).
