need info on this machine--what model is it? it has its scars but sews like a dream?

it looks like a Japanese clone of a singer 15 series. Great old machines. Other who collect these can share more.

From the back it looks like a 15 clone. Would like to see the front please :) Does it have a stitch length regulator and a method to drop the feed dogs?

15 clones are indeed great machines. Straight stitch only - but an excellent straight stitch (the ones I've touched will sew a straight 1/4 seam without guidance!), reverse, a stitch length regulator and a method to drop the feed dogs - some via a screw on the bottom of the machine, but most clones I believe have a mechanism on the bed of the machine. They take a standard size needle and bobbin so you'll have no problem finding those supplies for your machine. Other parts if needed are often compatable with standard Singer 15 parts.

Most of them are fantastic machines, at least the ones I've touched. Most are made in Japan and you will probably find that on the badge on the front pillar. A lot of them were made by the same company and given different names (ie your "Premier") to suit the purchaser - for example ... Gimbels department store sold a 15 clone with a "Gimbels" badge .. as did Montgomery Ward and many others that gave the machines different names - some of them quite unusual.

Check out this thread for a lot more info on the 15 clones ... and tons of pics. I think there is probably a "Premier" pictured in there .. at least I know I've seen one pictured on QB before. Be sure to post a pic of your machine there as well.
