Thanks for all the replies, we figured out it is missing a part called a gib, it helps hold the needle in. Does anyone have a recommendation where to find one? My Ebay search turned up nothing.

A little more digging, and I found a YouTube video on how to replace the gib and places to order one from. Thanks again everyone for all your suggestions.
