Question about removing paint
No, I am not wanting to strip a machine to bare metal...yet...
I got a hand cranked New Home that was rusted SOLID. I got it moving and humming along last night. (Tri-Flow is really the Sh**) The issue is NOW I have to deal with the previous owners idea of an "upgrade".. The deck and the rim of the handwheel have been painted VERY BADLY with gold paint... yes, gold.... Dull, "antiqued" gold... ewwww I have tried "goo gone", "goof off", denatured alcohol, and graffiti remover. All on the same spot with no apparent effect...http://www.quiltingboard.com/images/icons/icon8.png I can see that there is still black under it... may even be decals,, who knows... I know I can take it apart and strip it and repaint it, but I am looking for OTHER options.... Thoughts? |
